Bills mount in NCAA investigation
Nearly $100,000.
Through November 2011, that is about how much CSC has spent for accounting and legal costs incurred from the ongoing NCAA investigation into the college’s possible football fundraising violations.
As of Nov. 30, 2011, the college has spent $98,749.
The costs include more than $51,000 in forensic accounting services by independent auditing firm BKD of Denver, and more than $47,000 in legal fees, billed by Stinson Morrison Hecker LLP. Both companies were hired early in the fall semester when the college learned about possible football fundraising violations. After obtaining the services of both firms, the college announced Oct. 13, 2011, that it had reported the possible violations to the NCAA.
According to billing records The Eagle obtained Tuesday from the NSCS, some of the costs include $1,476 in travel costs for a representative of Stinson Morrison Hecker to travel to Chadron State and conduct in-person interviews during November, as well as $339 in food and lodging expenses.
The invoices show that seven different employees of BKD have billed services to the NSCS for services regarding “athletics at Chadron State College.”

100 thou thru nov. with dec. & jan. bills still to come.Wonder why the college needed to retain the services of a lawyer when it was the coach they were accusing of wrong doing? Can’t wait till the state auditor ( the true govening body)and the ncaa issues their report. Why was all that taxpayer money wasted? Could have made alot of improvements for that amount of cabbage.
Beast you know the answer to that, Brad and Jane had theit oun plans, and lets not forget about good old Connie. She had her lips moving too. All I can say now that Mesa is the winner and CSC lost.
