Senate committee eyes constitution for amendments

Student Senate has been working on renewing Senate’s constitution for the past few months. According to Vice President James Bahensky, the Student Association Constitution is dated and in need of revision.

The Constitutional Review Committee consists of Bahensky; President Morgan Nelson; Treasurer T.J. Thomson; Chief Justice Nisha Durand; Justice Faye Wefso; Jacob Rissler; Susan Schaeffer, sponsor; and Tami Fosher, manager of Residence Life.

The Review Committee is evaluating the current Constitution and will be adding amendments where they are needed.

Bahensky’s goals include:

• Establishing a renewed Constitution for Chadron State College students

• Maintaining the rights of the student body with checks placed on the governed [sic]

• Revisiting the most ideal representation for the students.
