Design has a place in more than museums, art galleries

While doing research for this week’s front-cover story, the design of the Appropriations Committee’s budget recommendations document (top left) told a different story than the words contained inside.
The document referenced the $6.7 million appropriation recommended for CSC’s Armstrong Gymnasium. Accompanying materials published by the committee contained testimony about the negative impression that Armstrong’s condition had on current and prospective students. Yet, for being concerned with appearances, the Appropriations Committee isn’t setting the standard with its own visual image.

Rodeo rides on optimism

Rodeo team coach Dustin Luper is optimistic for the Chadron State College rodeo team. With a number of cowboys and cowgirls on the CSC rodeo team being ranked regionally, it seems likely that they’ll add up another string of top 10 placer-holders to their spring season and opportunities for filling slots for nationals.

Eagles split with Mavericks

The Eagles had a decent outcome over the weekend against Colorado Mesa University, winning two of four games. Saturday, the ladies lost the first competition 12-6 to the Mavericks but, rallied to pull off a 4-2 victory in the second. On Sunday, the team repeated the performance by winning the first 5-3 only to lose 6-5 in the second.
