Political parties are gang warfare

Every day they are around us. Some of the time we know, but most of the time we can only speculate until we ask them directly, or we see them representing their side with red or blue. These two sides are the largest gangs in America, and we are affected by them every day. You have undoubtedly talked to them sometime today, and you will again. Of course you know who I am talking about. The Republicans and the Democrats.

Well, now that we have that sorted out, let’s get down to brass tacks. Election year is almost at an end and that means the popular television shows periodically interrupted with smear attempts on the other contender. I call this the “Flu Fight” because all the information is used is just regurgitating from what has been heard from news networks of choice, friends, or maybe a blog or some other form. Meanwhile, I’m pinching the bridge of my nose listening to these people, who are barely passing a business course, talk about which candidate will be better at fixing the economy.

You may have people in your life that you like, but no one that you agree with a hundred percent. Oh, that is, unless you are talking about your candidate for president. Seriously, when people are talking about “their” side, they can do no wrong. This works reverse for the person they don’t want. One of the candidates could be, “I love bacon.” That one little sentence would make an entire side want to eat healthier breakfast choices.

Each side knows how to fix the problems, and that includes everyone that has registered to vote for either side. “That person is the problem! He needs to be removed from office/not allowed in office.” Whoa, whoa, whoa. You want to know where the problem of politics can be found. Not the politicians, we know they are corrupt. The problem is us. It’s like hiring a convicted kidnapper to watch your kids, and you are the one that hires them! People are so ready to point fingers and blame, but refuse to accept any responsibility. All those people that are in office aren’t the best suited for the job, just the ones that got their name out and won the popularity contest.

This is where democrats and republicans bring in fault. Most of the time, voters won’t read what their congressman believes. Their information is obtained from he said she said, or what side they are on. “Is he a Democrat? Well I’m voting for him!” Good plan. The bipartisanship is tearing this country apart because the sides make people lethargic to learn anything about their representation. No, this does not mean everyone, but if you have never looked up a bill on the docket and read the entire thing, you are part of the problem.

You are a person. You have a brain in your head. You can make decisions without anyone else’s input. You know what you want for you and your family. You see the life that you want to live, so do me a favor: put down Fox News, CNN, MSNBC, and all of the other mainstream media channels. You see, this country is falling into a system where people are too afraid to stand up for what they want, so they hide in groups.

Gangs form for the same reasons the political parties do. Strength in numbers. But this country needs a turn. Think of a mass of individuals forming a collective, and no one able to see what “side” anyone is on. You have to view every aspect of this person. Only then can our country heal.

Yell all you want about politicians, in the end, you are the one that put them there. There is a lesser evil, and it’s not the person on your television, telling you how the other side is horrible, and that he or she is the decision. The person you are looking for is the one that doesn’t have the millions to spend on attacking someone else. They are people that grew up where you did, have the same interests, and want to represent what you believe.  You have a brain, a purpose, and power. Use it. Don’t let others decide how you use it.

The political parties should be disbanded, that way we are a collective of individuals, and not a division of color.
