CAB talks funding, homecoming plans

Homecoming plans and Board Policy 3300 continued to be CAB’s main discussion topic this week.

Dani Buckley, CAB president, said that each club will be allocated $50 spending money for homecoming. Each club is asked to turn in a written proposal for supplies to the CAB executive board by Oct. 13. Laure Sinn, adviser, said that she would be willing to pick up supplies for clubs from Wal-Mart.

Buckley also said that the club carnival slated for the Deans Green will be know as the “Carn’evil” honoring the Zombie Apocalypse theme. Those wanting to set up a booth for the carnival should see Shellie Johns by Oct. 4.

Lane Swedberg reminded the CAB that homecoming royalty nominations are due Oct. 12, pictures of royalty nominees will be Oct. 17 and 18, voting begins Oct. 22, and   ends Oct. 24.

In other business;

• Aaron Prestwich, interim executive director of student affairs, said he is preparing a packet about Board Policy 3300, which  states that club money gained by fundraising has to be moved to an off-campus account. Prestwich said that clubs have aired concerns about the policy, but added that the packet contains recommendations and guidelines  that should answer questions club advisers or members might have.

• Kellie Aye, treasurer said that there is $7,985 in CAB’s un-allocated funds.

• Darren Burrows, student events coordinator, said homecoming week kicks off with a free bowling night Oct. 20, and a free movie night, Oct. 21. Burrows also said that Late Night at the Pit would be the Price is Right 9 p.m. tonight.
