Chadron State’s facelift continues with revised website launch

Users of csc.edu can expect to see a fresh look this week when Chadron State launches a live version of its redesigned site, Webmaster Andrew Schmid said Wednesday.
The site, a hand-coded project, was internally developed by Dan Binkard, graphic design artist; Dewayne Gimeson, public information specialist; and Schmid.
The team’s overall objective was “to create a functional site that is usable for students, the campus community, and alumni,” Binkard said Wednesday.
Binkard said that content and navigation will remain largely the same, but that the design is significantly different.
“It [the new design] could be called a minimal look,” Binkard said. “We’re trying to keep it as clean as possible.”
The site’s last redesign was in 2010.
One of Binkard’s chief concerns is maintaining compatibility across a diverse array of browsers and devices, including tablets and mobile phones.
“We want to make sure it works on those devices,” Binkard said. “It can be an evolutionary process, but we can get it working if we find there are incompatibilities.”
