Did Obama’s re-election end the world?

Well, the world has officially decided to come crumbling down. President Obama was elected for a second term and as everyone has heard, the meteor didn’t like the outcome and has veered its course to come smash directly into us. China has won. America is going to turn Socialist. The end has come.

However, this is not exactly all true. Well, actually none of it is. It turns out the world will keep on spinning, and America will still be a country, minus a few crazy people. So, let’s talk about the changes that have occurred since Obama has taken office until now.

First, all the people who said that they were going to jump to a different country if Obama was elected again were actually lying. What they actually did was petition for secession away from the United States, but live in the United States. These were very red states, with a few petitions coming from people who are in New York. Texas had so many that a response from D.C. was imminent. I have some advice for the people who have decided they don’t like this country, and it comes from the people of the Tea Parties, the same people who say, “If you don’t like America. Leave.”

Marijuana has become something on everybody’s lips, and don’t mind the play on words. Colorado passed Amendment 64 which makes it legal in the state, if you are over the age of 21, to have limited amounts of marijuana on your person, and also, to go ahead and use the substance. This has caused some uproar and cheering depending on what side of the fence you fall, and whether your side of the fence is a tad bit “greener.” Federally, marijuana is still illegal and it looks to be that way for some time. Or at least until there are a lot of regulations and a lot of public awareness and teaching endorsed. So yay or nay, you decide. As Daniel Tosh said, “I want them to legalize marijuana. Just so all my stupid pot head friends have nothing to talk about anymore.”

China, by the way, did not get any larger after this re-election in America. In fact, the power it had may actually be getting a lot smaller. The communist party, which usually boasts around eighty million is going to be reduced to a leading party of about seven. That is right, the communist party where all people have the same exact power, is going to be reduced to seven leaders. So what does that even mean? That is a good question and, if you are actually interested, you would do well to stay tuned and see what turns up.

The world keeps on spinning is the moral of this segment. No matter who was elected president, people were going to hate who was chosen. Now, you can complain, whine, and generally do absolutely nothing about the situation if you so choose. Or you can decide that you are going to carry on and realize the president isn’t the only governing body, and the people are where all the power actually resides. So to all of those people who changed to political science majors for the election that may or may not have changed back, keep your feet in your country, and your eyes on the world.

The point of this article is to show that despite what a few people have said few things have been changed; the world keeps on spinning. We will look back one day, many years from now, after a few more generations have been born, and we will remember how politicians were and how prices were fair. Things always change, and because of that, things stay the same. The only thing that truly can change is how you manage your own knowledge about the world around you, and how you adapt. Learn the United States’s borders are not the end of the world, but rather, just the walls of our home.
