Senate shifts funds
Student Senate chose a bank to move their funds to at this week’s Senate meeting.
Ashley Swanson, treasurer, once again asked Senate about the four banks that she previously brought to discussion: Bank of the West, Security First, Chadron Federal Credit Union, and First National Bank of Chadron. Swanson added that she was in contact with Bank of the West, who said they would put Senate under a business account so there would be no fees. Senate unanimously voted for Bank of the West.
Swanson also said there is $83, 243 in unallocated funds.
Dani Buckley, CAB president, said that CAB allocated money to bring in masseuses for finals week. Buckley said that the masseuses would be located in the Student Center from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
Heather Wing, chief justice, said the she went with Beth Wroblewski, secretary, and Laure Sinn, CAB adviser, to pick presents from the Angel Tree at Walmart for Student Senate’s charity project. Wing said that with Senate’s funds, they bought presents for three different kids. Wing also encouraged senators to do the same thing.
Tiffani Roelle said that there is a plaque for the Time Capsule now located in the flag plaza. Roelle encouraged everyone to go see the plaque now that the project is finished.
CSC student Karl McFarland, came to speak to Student Senate to let senators know that Release will be happening in March of 2013. Mcfarland said that he has gotten feedback from students and everyone seems excited about Release. T.J. Thomson, Senate vice president, told McFarland that any requests for funds must be submitted in written form.
