Sam Parker, senior of Harrison, was mentioned during the State of the System Address on September 5, in the Student Center Ballroom.
Parker, a 21-year-old Public Relations major, helped organize the Big Event on April 20, a day of volunteering that spurred 400 CSC students to action.
During his State of the System address, Stan Carpenter, Nebraska State College System Chancellor, issued a strongly-worded statement in defense of dual enrollment and early entry programs.

The half hour-long session, titled “Bass Fishing and Tribal Dispossession at Bde Ihanke (Lake Andes, S.D.): A CSC Research Project,” stems from Nesheim’s dissertation work and focused on the history of the land surrounding Lake Andes, S.D., from 1906 to 1931.
After a 40-34 double-overtime victory last week over Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla, the Eagles are heading south to Arlington, Texas, where they face West Texas A&M, Canyon, tonight in a nationally-televised game from Cowboys Stadium.

The CSC softball team is hosting a Home Run Derby at 1 p.m. Monday, at the softball field.
Cost is $5 per contestant for 10 swings against a pitching machine.
Top four will compete in a final on Sept. 26, after the CSC and Western Nebraska Community College scrimmage. Prizes will be awarded to finalists.
Tonight’s game between CSC and West Texas A&M, Canyon, is CBS Sports Network’s featured game for its nationwide broadcast Thursday night. Kickoff is 7 p.m. Central Daylight Time (6 p.m. MDT) from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
