Women’s cross country team sweeps the field

Women’s team snatches the top six places; men capture four of top six

Pure perfection. Almost.

The CSC women’s cross country team captured the top six individual places in its season opening dual meet Friday to beat the women of South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, Rapid City, 15-45.

Chadron State’s men were not far behind as they grabbed four of the top six slots to beat the Hardrockers men, 18-41.

Graduate Assistant Coach Brian Medigovich said he was impressed.

He said the coaches want to start the runners off slowly so they can peak at the right time. They apparently have a good start.

Medigovich added that he would like to see the CSC runners improve individually with each race, move farther ahead of the other runners and advance their places each week.

“One of our long-term goals is to finish a lot better than we did at the end of last year,” Medigovich said.  “And do better at the RMAC.”

The team’s next meet is a home meet 9 a.m.  Saturday.
