Former Eagle staff member in the running for national award
T.J. Thomson, former executive editor of The Eagle, has been placed in the top 10 spots in the Associate Collegiate Press contest. Thomson was selected for news photo coverage of the Region 23 Complex and Douthit fire, and house advertisement in ACCLAIM magazine.
“Capturing finalist spots in the ACP’s national competition places The Eagle and Chadron State among an elite group of finalists, including media outlets from private ivy league institutions and flagship universities many times our size,” Thomson said. “This proves that our stories in the Nebraska panhandle are no less worthy of being told and no less powerful, and I am thrilled that The Eagle is training communicators who can tell them so richly.”
According to the ACP website, “winners will be announced at the ACP/CMA National College Media Convention in New Orleans on Saturday, Oct. 26.”
