Women finish strong at the RMAC Championships
The cross country team competed in the RMAC Championships Saturday in Silver City, N. M.
Head Coach Ryan Baily talked about the meet.
“This meet showed the mental and physical strength of our team,” he said. “This year’s results were very exciting to see, and they handled the high elevation very well.”
This year, the CSC women’s team finished six out of 14 with a time of 1:59:26.61. Meanwhile, the men’s team ended 11 out of 13 with a time of 2:18:33.00. Last year, according to Brian Medigovich, assistant coach, the women were 11 and the men were 12.
Medigovich also commented on the meet.
“This year went a lot better,” he said. “The high elevation did play a role and they dealt with it very well. It was a disadvantage that, now, doesn’t seem like that much of a disadvantage. One of our top runners had a small anxiety attack and had to pull back, but she still finished quite well.”
He added the team is capable of more.
