PTSD Conference: Panel of speakers to offer awareness for the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder
From 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 13, the PTSD: Veterans’ Invisible Wounds conference will take place in the Student Center Ballroom. Put on by the Social Work 435 class, the conference will provide awareness and knowledge of the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder in veterans.
Keynote speaker Gary E. May, associate professor of social work at the University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, will discuss information on the signs and symptoms of PTSD, ways to handle it, PTSD’s history, and what resources there are in the community, alongside a number of VA’s from medical clinics in Wyoming and South Dakota, including Derek Deibler; Loree Siegfried; Nicholie Peralta; and Nebraska Senator Al Davis.
The conference is free and open to the public, and will also have breakout sessions and information books.
