Women beat Western, lose to Mesa; 4-17 record

CSC did not show any mercy beating Western State 70-48, Friday at Armstrong. The Eagles made 25 of 50 shots from the field, including eight of 19 3-pointers. CSC shot 12 of 19 free throws.

Kattie Ranta, senior of Rapid City, S.D., led the Eagles with 27 points and 10 rebounds, marking her 13th double-double of the season.

Kayli Rageth, senior of Kimball, scored 17 points, and guard Dallas Shaw, junior of Buffalo, Wyo., added 12 points and four steals.

The Eagles never trailed in this game.

The Eagles lost 95-62, against Colorado Mesa University, Grand Junction, Saturday at Armstrong. The Mavericks led 39-33 at half time.

The Eagles made 19 of 46 shots by the end of the second half, 50 percent from the 3-point line, and 65 percent from the free-throw line.

Rageth led the Eagles with 25 points and eight rebounds. Ranta scored 10 points and eight rebounds, and Shaw, posted 11 points with one rebound. They were the only three Eagles to achieve double figures in points.

The Eagles are 4-17 overall and 4-13 in the RMAC. CSC will play Colorado Christian University at 6 p.m. Friday in Lakewood, Colo.
