Eight Eagles qualify for National Championships
Eight CSC track and field athletes qualified to compete at the NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field National Championships on March 14 and 15 in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The qualifiers are Shelby Bozner, sophomore of Rock Springs, Wyo.; Alyssa Norton, senior of Rushville; Stachia Reuwsaat, freshman of Black Hawk, S.D.; Ashley Riesen, senior of Chadron; Chris Cutcher, freshman of Colorado Springs; Karl McFarlane, senior of Montego Bay, Jamaica; Dean Francis, senior of Montego Bay, Jamaica; and Charith Kapukotuwa, senior of Sri Lanka.
Bozner qualified in the pentathlon with 33,577 points; she is ranked 15th nationally.
Norton qualified in the shot put with a throw of 15m; she is ranked 7th nationally.
Reuwsaat qualified in the long jump with a jump of 5.96m; she is ranked 3rd nationally. Riesen qualified in the mile with a time of 4:58.75; she is ranked 12 nationally.
Cutcher and McFarlane qualified in the 60 meter hurdles; Cutcher with a time of 8.14 and McFarlane with a time of 7.93. Cutcher is ranked 17th and McFarlane 7th nationally.
Francis qualified in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.94; he is ranked 15th nationally.
Kapukotuwa qualified in shot put with a throw of 17.43m, and weight throw with a throw of 18.63m. He is ranked 11th in shot put and 15th in weight throw nationally.
