Golf team hits its best 18-hole score this season
The CSC golf team finished seventh out of nine teams this week at the Colorado State University-Pueblo Wolf Pack Invitational at Elmwood Golf Course.
They shot a round of 351, which is their best 18-hole score this season and the team finished the two-day tournament with a score of 715, the team’s best 36-hole score this season.
Schuyler Wetzel, sophomore of Hot Springs, S.D., led the Eagles by shooting 79 on Monday and shooting 86 on Tuesday for a total of 165.
The rest of the team improved their day one scores on Tuesday. Emma Harris, sophomore of Wahoo, finished with a score of 167, 86 Monday and 81 Tuesday. Danielle Brennan, freshman of Ellsworth, tallied 96 strokes Monday and 86 strokes Tuesday; Cali Crile, freshman of Chadron, shot 103 Monday and 98 Tuesday for a total of 201; and Nicole Thramer, freshman of Bartlett, finished with a score of 241 after going 126 the first day and 115 the second day.
Colorado State University-Pueblo won the tournament after shooting 314 Monday and 307 Tuesday with a total of 621.
The golf team’s next meet is the RMAC conference championship Sunday and Monday in Phoenix.
