Events Center slated to host season opener

Long-time Chadron State supporter, the late Vernon P. Chicoine, continues his generosity with another addition to the CSC campus. 

The new events center being built south of Armstrong will be named after Chicoine. Construction is said to be ahead of schedule according to Blair Brennan, physical facilities construction project coordinator.

“The project will be signed off on the sixth of November,” Brennan said Wednesday. “We are on schedule, if not even slightly ahead of schedule”

Brennan was confident that the events center will be completed in time for the men’s basketball home opener.

The Chicoine center has been under construction since the spring of 2013.
