Fiesta Party provides fun activities for students
The Resident Life Association and Diversity Committee hosted the annual Fiesta Party Thursday night in the Student Center Ballroom.
Along with games and a nacho bar, this year the Fiesta Party also included ballroom dance classes. Students were taught the basic steps of the salsa and they were also taught a few trick moves. Sarah Spinks, 18, freshman of Omaha, taught the classes.
According to Resident Life manager Billie Knifong, students enjoy this event every year.
“There’s a lot of games for students to participate in, and there’s a nacho bar which everyone gets excited about,” Knifong said.
The event started at 6:30 p.m. with two sessions of salsa lessons. After students learned how to salsa, they played games such as “pin the tail on the donkey” and hit piñatas. There was also a chili pepper eating contest, which drew tears from some students eyes. Students were also able to let loose at a dance.
The Fiesta Party had a lot of things to offer for students and provided a fun atmosphere.
