Redditing? Don’t take ‘The Red Pill’

In my down time, I like to get on the internet. A lot. If I’m not doing homework or playing video games, odds are I’m on the internet. As such, I see a lot of weird stuff on the web. However, nothing had prepared me to witness the community known as The Red Pill. The Red Pill is a message board on Reddit, but what is Reddit?

Reddit works like this: there are a bunch of different message boards called “subreddits” that all deal with one specific topic, such as Minecraft, cute pictures of cats, or in this case, being an “alpha male.”

I stumbled upon this subreddit after hearing about it from people all over the website. I had never seen it myself, so I didn’t know how bad it was; and trust me guys, it’s pretty bad.

The entire community is dedicated to the notion that women are stupid and you are only going to get laid if you act like a total jerk. To the posters on The Red Pill, this is called “being alpha.” To me, that’s just acting like an asshole.

All of the posts are extremely sexist, and it seems that most people on this message board have a severe hatred for women. I have no clue what their deal is, but I think they got tired of getting rejected for wearing fedoras, or something equally stupid.

For example, let’s examine the average Red Pill post. The following sentence is taken right off the front page: “College doesn’t turn good girls into sluts. It allows sluts to quit acting like good girls and be who they really are.” I can’t even begin to make this up. Even after just reading the title I’m already mad.

Why does the poster have to insinuate that all women are “sluts?” If a woman enjoys intercourse, that doesn’t make her a slut. In fact, I think that makes her pretty damn normal compared to the rest of the people on this message board.

Here’s yet another gem from a post: “The wife has pulled what she deemed to be her money from the account and put it in her own. She is going nuts because she doesn’t like the new alpha me.”

I got some news for you, guy. Your wife isn’t “going nuts” because she doesn’t like the new “alpha you”, she’s getting upset that her once loving husband has turned into a sexist prick! I would take my money and run too if I had to deal with your crap.

In the end, it’s communities like these that widen the gender gap even further, and I think it’s about time that we put an end to this mindset once and for all.

You aren’t going to get into a healthy relationship if you don’t know how to respect someone. You have to be willing to communicate on issues, not just say “I am the man, your opinion is invalid.” That is just sexist bullcrap, and it doesn’t have a place in the 21st century.
