CAB allocates $2,000 for free movie night, discusses Halloween
CAB allocated $2,000 for free movie night. Free movie night will be Oct. 19 and there won’t be another CAB meeting before then.
Laure Sinn, CAB adviser, asked clubs to help The Pit with the Haunted House, which will be on Oct. 30. Vice-Chair of Programming Andy Martin also asked clubs to help with the Haunted House. Sinn said the Haunted House is a great way to “scare the you-know-what out of people.” She said if you want to be an actor or actress, they are looking for help. Sinn “double dog dared” clubs to get involved and help, and said she would make some of her “famous organic chocolate chip cookies” for those who decided to help.
CAB Chair Kelsey Empfield told representatives Senate is taking a trip to Orlando, Florida, for a leadership conference and there is one male and one female position open on the trip for students. The trip will be Nov. 20-22 and if students want to go they need to write a letter about why they want or deserve to go and turn the letter in to either Senate President Dillon Spies or Chief Justice Jon Lordino by Oct. 20.
Empfield also reminded clubs there will be no CAB meeting next Tuesday.
Sinn also thanked everyone for their help and participation during homecoming last weekend. She said on Oct. 25 there will be a “Pink it out day/game.” They will be getting T-shirts, wristbands, tattoos, and maybe even some pink cookies.
Deena Kennell, CAB adviser, said CAB should think about possibly doing a fundraiser to go along with the “Pink it out day/game.”
She also said they will be hosting a career day on Oct. 24 in the lobby of the Student Center and encouraged students to check it out.
College Republicans Club will be having a meeting 11 a.m., Thursday.
Natural Science Club will be hosting an event in the Math and Science building from 3-7 p.m., Friday with various events and prizes. Sunday, Women’s Rugby will be hosting a freewill donation chili feed from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
The Pit also talked about the Haunted House and turned the budget in to Martin for the event.
HPER clubs will be having the Haunted Trails Run at 5:30 p.m., Oct. 30. Registrations are in the NPAC.
On Halloween, Social Work Club will be hosting a food drive trick or treat. They will be going around to homes and asking for canned goods to donate to the food pantry.
Sharp shooters meet at 6 p.m. every Thursday at the 4-H building to shoot archery and invited others to come. They have instructors to teach if students don’t know how to shoot archery.
Cardinal Key will be hosting the fall tea from 6-8 p.m., Oct. 15.
