Homecoming Domination
The Eagles dominated during the homecoming game, winning 40-7 against Western State Colorado University.
Kicker Randy Wentz, sophomore of Scottsbluff, went 2-for-2 this game with a career-best 47-yard kick. Following his performance, he was named the RMAC’s Special Teams Player of the Week. This season he is 4-for-4 and has two kicks longer than 40 yards. He is the only kicker left in the conference to be perfect through five weeks.

The CSC offenses marked 282 yards in rushing and 231 yards in the air. Tailback Michael Madkins, senior of Sacramento, California, led the Eagles in rushing yards with 129 yards and two touchdowns. He has now tallied more than 100 yards for the third time this season. He has 1,957 yards this season and is 10th in all-time rushing yards. Tailback Cody Paul, sophomore of Seal Beach, California, marked 62 yards; Fullback Robert Jackson, junior of Savannah, Georgia, finished the game with 41 yards and one touchdown.
In the air, Quarterback Jonn McLain, senior of Chadron, completed 21 of 33 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns. Wide Receivers Kyle Hooper, sophomore of Alliance, and Kyle Vinich, junior of Casper, Wyoming, caught five passes a piece for 46 and 91 yards, respectively. Insider receiver Zac Bargen, junior of Chadron, grabbed four for 28 yards and Wide Receiver Danny O’Boyle , junior of Gering, snatched two for 44 yards.
On the flip side, the defense sacked Western’s quarterback four times. Linebacker Courtland Joshua, junior of Donaldsonville, Lousiana; defensive Lineman Zach Sandstrom, senior of Chadron; Defensive End Truett Box, redshirt freshman of Cheyenne Wells, Colorado; Defensive End Dillion Breining, senior of Arapahoe; and Linebacker Dylan Furrier, junior of Tucson, Arizona; all marked sacks. Defensive Back Ryan Wood, sophomore of Stockton, California, led the defense with nine tackles. Furrier added eight, and Safety Lane Haller, senior of Gordon, counted six.
