Volleyball team loses 2 games in 3 matches each
The volleyball team took on Regis University and the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs last weekend.
Friday evening, Regis cruised by the Eagles with a three-set win 25-17, 25-10, 25-7. The Eagles saw their record fall to 3-12 overall, and to 2-5 in conference play.

Regis was never threatened by the Eagles, as they maintained a lead for nearly the entire match and hit .236 as a team while only committing 13 errors.
Outside Hitter Erika Roybal, senior of Denver, led CSC with five kills, and Outside Hitter Hanna Flaming, senior of Benton, Kansas, added four.
Defensive Specialist Brittany Oddo, senior of Peoria, Arizona, had a team-high 11 digs, and Defensive Specialist Alyssa Bauer, senior of Rapid City, South Dakota, chipped in 10 more.
Saturday brought about a new opportunity for CSC to redeem themselves, but they would come up short again as they fell in three sets to the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs, 25-18, 25-20, 25-13.
CSC, now 3-13 overall and 2-6 in the RMAC, made things interesting in the second set when they rallied from a 11-17 deficit to bring themselves within one point, but it wasn’t enough.
The Eagles had a balanced offense. Setter Shelby Gardner, redshirt freshman of Colby, Kansas, distributed 22 assists to eight different teammates.
Roybal led the way for the Eagles with seven kills, and Middle Hitter Lelalelei Nomura, junior of Pago Pago, American Samoa, chipped in five. Outside Hitter Alexis Farris, freshman of Blair, had a team high 12 digs and added six kills of her own.
Middle Hitter Alia Brennan, sophomore of Chadron, who had four kills, helped in six blocks, turning back two of her own and adding four block assists to lead all competitors. CSC finished with eight blocks as a team.
“We are a great team,” Oddo said. “Every single one of us is talented enough. We now just have to truly believe that and do our own jobs on the court. This is a team sport, but individually you have to do your own job, and I think we lost sight of that this weekend.”
The Eagles will be on the road this weekend, as they take on Metro State University, Denver, and Colorado School of Mines, Golden.
