Eagle wrestlers shred Wolves 34-6

Thursday the Eagles wrestlers traveled to Aberdeen, South Dakota to take on the Northern State University Wolves. The Eagles tore into the wolves and left them fleeing with a final score of 34-6.

The Eagles’ record improved to 3-2, including a two-match winning streak.

Caleb Copeland, sophomore of Bennett, Colorado, 174-pounds, pinned Northern State Wolf Anthony Navarro, junior of Rohnert Park, California in 1:24.

Jacob Anderson, sophomore of Central City, 149-pounds, ended his match 12-4, earning a major decision.

Four Eagle wrestlers won their matches by decision. They were Joshua Miller, redshirt freshman of Bennett, Colorado, 141-pounds, with a score of 9-5; Chance Helmick, freshman of Beatrice, 165-pounds, scoring 4-3; Dylan Fors, senior of Roseburg, Oregon, 184-pounds, with a score of 5-3; and Jake Weber, sophomore of Rapid City, South Dakota, heavyweight, with a shutout of 4-0.

At noon, Saturday, CSC will host a triangular with Augustana and Hastings College at the NPAC.
