Women’s team ends 2014 season 1-9

Following a 69-59 loss to Regis University Friday night, the Eagles were outrebounded and outshot by Metro State University of Denver, Saturday, ultimately leading to a 67-47 loss.

Friday, CSC gave up 19 points on turnovers in the first half to give Regis a comfortable 33-28 lead.

Point guard Emma Block, junior of Copenhagen, Denmark, posted 24 points to lead the Eagles. It was a career-high number that put her above all scorers from both teams. She was seven of 15 from the field, three of four on 3-pointers, and seven of seven from the free throw line.

Forward Ruby Luders, freshman of Adeaide, South Australia, marked 11 points, sinking all six 2-pointers.

Saturday, from the field, Metro State shot 51 percent as a team while keeping CSC to just 25 percent. Metro State also led CSC in rebounds 44-23.

Block led the Eagles with 17 points. Block was 90 percent from the free throw line dropping nine of her 10 shots. Following Block was guard Hattie Guzman, junior of Scottsbluff, with eight points. Guzman sank two of three attempted three-pointers.

On the Eagles defensive end, guard Stephanie Knowles, junior of Colorado Springs, Colorado, stole four balls that assisted the Eagles in posting 21 points on turnovers alone.
