CSC celebrates MLK Day

There was a special open mic event Sunday night in the Student Center Ballroom in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Snacks and beverages were offered for everyone. The event was organized by Gavan Archibald, RD of Kent Hall. Students were encouraged to show off their talent and creativity, whether in song or allowing the audience to vibe with them through poetry.

You need more than a speech

During Tuesday’s State of the Union Address, President Obama mentioned his Italian friend, “Veto.”

That joke was bad and we feel bad for printing it. However, the President did mention the need for the White House and Congress to work together, then shortly thereafter mentioned threats to veto legislation that he doesn’t agree with.

Sheldon Museum of Art’s show explores views of nature

Old meets new in Memorial Hall’s newest Main Gallery art show, an exploration of a timeless force on the human landscape: nature. On tour from UNL’s Sheldon Museum of Art, the show, titled “Depicting Nature, From Scientific to the Sublime,” features 16 works which “explore the various ways that artists explore nature.” This statement comes from the elegant show pamphlet, which outlines the works on display.
