Police warn students against recent area car-thefts
Over the past two weeks the Chadron Police Department has taken numerous reports of unlocked vehicles being entered and items of value stolen. So far, all thefts have occurred during the night time hours. Items that have been taken include laptops, electronics, stereos, billfolds, tools, and many other small items.
Chadron Police Department offers these tips: Don’t leave your car unlocked. Don’t leave your keys in your vehicle. Don’t leave your windows rolled down. Don’t leave valuables or personal property in your vehicle. Don’t leave your vehicle running, especially while it is unattended or unlocked. Park in a well-lit area. Install an audible alarm system or a vehicle immobilizer system.
If you believe you have information that may help the Chadron Police Department solve these crimes, we ask that you contact the Chadron Police Department at 308-432-0510 or you can report this information to the Dawes County Crime Stoppers hotline at 308-432-0519.
