Senate approves new bylaws of Constitutional Court
In Monday’s meeting, Chief Justice Coy Clark and Student Trustee Jacob Rissler presented the revisions to the court procedures of the constitution.
These new bylaws of the Constitutional Court were approved by Student Senate.
Different filings allowed in the Court will be available online on the CSC Student Senate webpage for easy access to anyone.
A motion was started online to fund Senator Josh Mayer’s event Chadron’s Got Talent, co-sponsored by CAB and War Eagles, but was not approved until Monday’s meeting.
The War Eagles were allocated $3,000.
The Chadron’s Got Talent auditions will be held 5-8 p.m., March 23-25 in the Chicoine Atrium.
Lane Swedberg, a student coordinator of the Nearly Naked Mile, was approved for the updated budget of $13,300 for the event this year.
The Nearly Naked Mile was not able to coordinate with the Galaxy Series and now has to pay for food and entertainment as well as t-shirts, prizes, advertisements, and the dance expenses.
Shellie Johns is working to contract the performer known as “The Human iPod.” If the performer is not contracted, $5,500 will be taken off of the budget for the cost of the entertainment and food.
Though the Nearly Naked Mile wants to keep donations local, members are working with outside organizations such as Goodwill to help with clothing donations to obtain more clothing of quality rather than quantity.
The clothing donations will span over a week’s time and the winners will not be announced until the night of the event to encourage “giving to give,” Swedberg said.
The Nearly Naked Mile is scheduled for April 30.
CAB Chair Andy Martin was allocated $1,500 for another free bowling night scheduled March 28. It will be themed as 80’s night.
Vice Chair of CAB Programming Chelsea Evans wanted to remind students that Sunday, is free movie night.
The Eagle theatre will be playing “Cinderella,” “Run All Night,” and “Insurgent.”
Martin also wanted to invite students to attend the band concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday in Memorial Hall.
In the March 2 meeting, Vice President Taylor Strong reminded members that student senate elections are coming up.

Chief Justice Coy Clark said that the Constitutional Court will have an open hearing to discuss rules, concerns, or questions, but has not yet determined the exact date.
A new club on campus, CSC Plainswalker Society, is dedicated to students who play games such as “Dungeons and Dragons,” “Munchkin,” and “The Settlers of Catan.”
Sen. Karson Langley introduced TerraCycle, a recycling company that collects waste such as chip bags and converts them into products such as park benches.
According to Langley, once you have sent in the waste, the money earned can be put towards a non-profit organization of your choice, such as the Make-A-Wish foundation.
