Pay attention to Senate elections

The time for Student Senate elections is approaching, and with it comes a chance for students to make a difference in the type of leaders we choose. It’s exciting that we get the chance to have a say in who has some deciding power over where the Senate budget goes and who can help make significant changes on our campus a reality.

In the upcoming elections, we have three very capable and experienced students running for the presidential office. It is the student’s job to choose which candidate is the best-fit to suit the needs of the student body.

As a student body, we should all feel confident about exercising the power that we have to make this decision.

We need to ask ourselves what is important to us, what changes we want to see on our campus, and in how our student government functions. It is truly us who have the most to lose in this election, and the most to gain as well.

The actions of the Student Senate directly affect all of us. Whether you pay attention or not, these actions impact our daily lives.

Recently, the Senate has made some very strong strides in bettering the decisions they make; however, there are still some issues that need to be addressed.

This is where the student body comes in; we can help resolve these issues by choosing the best-fit candidates for all the senatorial positions and executive positions.

Many of the students running for offices have the potential to be great leaders and office holders. We hope that students care enough about what happens on our campus. We hope that students will vote in this year’s election and make the best decision they can about who is making important decisions on our campus.

Voting in these elections is important because every student deserves to know where their student fees are going, and by voting ,students can learn who is involved in student government.

Please get involved and vote in the upcoming elections. Help make a difference on this campus and have your voice be heard.
