European team signs former CSC basketball star
This summer, former men’s basketball standout Kendrick Holliman, of Spanish Fort, Alabama, signed to play with the Black Star Mersch in Luxembourg.
“The team is a group of great guys,” Holliman said. “I talked to a few of them through social media and I like what the season has in store.”
Holliman hasn’t met the team in person yet as he won’t arrive until Aug. 25.
“After talking with the coaches and returning guys from last year, we all are ready to get started on a good foot, win, and put Black Star Mersch where it needs to be.

“They want me to be a leader, score the ball, and dominate the game with my strengths and still get teammates involved. Down the stretch I will be looked at to make plays for my teammates and myself to ensure victory,” Holliman said.
The forward averaged 14.3 points per game and 5.8 rebounds a game last year for the Eagles, earning him a spot on the All-RMAC third team. Holliman led the Eagles in both categories.
In four years with the Eagles, Holliman tallied 870 points in 653 attempts from the field. He also grabbed 367 rebounds, which is fourth among Eagles since 2003. Holliman also finished fifth in blocks with 44 and fourth in steals with 77. He played 97 games in an Eagle uniform while starting in 59. For his career, he averaged 8.9 points per game while shooting an impressive 40 percent from the field.
