KQSK selects new voice

Replacing John Axtell as the voice of the Eagles is no easy task, one that Dave Collins does not take lightly.

“Being the voice of a program for as many years as Mr. Axtell speaks to the dedication of his work covering CSC,” Collins said. “It’s an honor to be the new ‘Voice of the Eagles,’ and I’m looking forward to carving out a long career bringing Chadron State fans compelling game broadcasts and additional coverage through our coaches shows and on-air sports reports.”

Collins graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder with a degree in journalism and a minor is history. He started work for KSID in Sidney in October 2004.  While at KSID, Collins covered over 900 athletic events.

“When I graduated, I looked all over the country for a job,” Collins said. “When I found the job in Sidney, that was how I got started and have been in western Nebraska ever since.”

“I’m looking forward to calling CSC athletics,” Collins said. “I want to get very involved with the athletic programs. Working with the coaches and players to provide the best broadcast I can for all the wonderful fans.”
