CAB sets homecoming week schedule
The clubs in CAB have spent $12,742.81 and have $141,022.09 remaining in the account.
There will be an open forum at next week’s Senate meeting for discussion over the $5,500 that Chi Alpha and Revive are asking to be allocated for the concert. If students have an opinion on the subject, they should go to the meeting to voice their opinion.
The Family Fun Day and color run are this Saturday. Registration for the color run is at 8:30 a.m. and the run is at 9 a.m at the Clock Tower.
Homecoming royalty nominations are due Monday. To nominate someone for royalty, go to the CSC website, search royalty nominations and there will be a link. The nominees for Homecoming are required to have at least 60 credit hours. The nominees for CAB are Ty Grasz and Analise Garland.
From 10 – 11 a.m., Tuesday, there will be a Walmart run for clubs to get supplies for floats and bed sheets. All clubs are required to participate in Homecoming by doing a bed sheet, float, or both.
Pictures of the Homecoming royalty nominees will be on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. Bed sheets are due on Oct. 2 in the CAB office and are currently available for clubs to pick up in the CAB office. It has not yet been determined when royalty voting will open because it depends on IT, CAB Chair Stephanie Steele said. Voting for Homecoming royalty closes and bed sheet voting opens at noon, Oct. 5. Bed sheet voting closes at noon, Oct. 7.
The Homecoming events are as follows: Oct. 5 – bonfire; Oct. 6 – neon day and laser tag in the NPAC; Oct. 7 – pink out day, coronation, bed sheet winners, lighting of C-Hill; Oct. 8 – camo day, Late Night at The Pit camo dance; Oct. 9 – school spirit day, quidditch at 4 p.m. hosted by RLA; Oct. 10 – 5K walk/run at 8 a.m., parade at 9:30 a.m., football game at 1 p.m., formal dance. No time has been set for the dance yet.
CAB asked for no more than $2,000 to be allocated for Free Movie Night. Free Movie Night is at 7 p.m., Sunday. The first 300 students to arrive get in free, after that they will have to pay.
Free Bowling Night is scheduled for Nov. 14.
CAB is co-sponsoring a movie night Oct. 30 with RLA.
There will be an Out of the Darkness Community Walk on Oct. 3. The coordinators for this event are in the Student Center from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., today to give student information about registering for this walk. The walk is three miles around town and raises awareness for suicide prevention. For more information on the walk, you can visit AFSB.org.
