New interim SID named at CSC

CSC Sports information has undergone a whirlwind of change recently with the resignation of the newly hired Sports Information Director Heath Reynolds. Reynolds, who began working for CSC on Sept. 8, resigned Monday due to family issues.

Within 48 hours, the athletic department hired Kaleb Center as interim SID. Center was previously the Director of Media Relations at Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference where he worked for two years.

“In general, I want to promote the sports that we have here, bring more recognition to the athletics department and athletics program, and help the student athletes get promoted,” Center said this morning.

Center is originally from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, but he has ties to the region because his wife, whom he met in college, was originally from the area. For now, Center said he wants to get on his feet as the SID and figure out where he is headed with his new position.

Chadron State College will keep Center on through June, then it will open a search to fill the position Center said.

“We are glad to have Center on as our new SID to continue the great work that Alex Helmbrecht has done,” Director of Athletics Joel Smith Jr. said.
