Golfers finish 11th in RMAC tourney
The CSC golf team finished the RMAC Tournament #2 in 11th place at the University of New Mexico Golf Course, in Albuquerque, with a two round total of 693. Although the Eagles dropped one place lower than the last RMAC event, the team as a whole improved by three strokes.
Kelli Haynes, sophomore of Whitney, lead the team scoring a two-day total of 169, despite being unable to walk during the tournament. Haynes tied for 35th in the individual category.
Schuyler Wetzel, senior of Hot Springs, South Dakota, shot a two-round total of 172 placing her in 42nd.
“I had a rough start to the season,” Wetzel said. “But as the season went on, I saw improvement in myself and I plan to work hard in the off-season so I can start strong in the spring.”
Emma Harris, senior of Wahoo, tied with Wetzel in 42nd place with a two-round total of 172. Sam Rahmig, freshman of Gering, shot a two-round total of 184 placing her in 63rd. Karson Langley, sophomore of Sidney, finished her two rounds with a score of 192 placing her in a tie for 69th place.
This was the final meet of the fall season for CSC.
“I thought it was a good end to the season,” Wetzel said. “We all have a pretty good understanding of what we need to work on for the off-season.”
