Students follow clues to find Casper
Where’s Casper Scavenger Hunt is one of the many activities that the Xi Delta Zeta sorority scheduled over the “Scare Away Cancer” week last Thursday. Teams of two or four people hunted down people dressed in ghostly garb. Six teams signed up to take on the challenge.
The teams started with one clue, receiving a new clue with each ghost they found. The quickest time won four $10 Walmart gift cards. The winning team, named “Shortstacks,” clocked in at 38 minutes. Mikkel Watson, 20, sophomore of Akron, Colorado, and Lauren Moller, 22, junior of Alliance, members of the winning team, said that the event was a fun workout that gave them an opportunity to learn the layout of the campus.

Xi Delta Zeta’s “Scare Away Cancer” week brought some stories to come with the risen awareness of various forms of cancer. Teri Robinson, 23, senior of Alliance, the sorority’s vice president of public relations, shared one particular story sent to the group’s Facebook page. The story shared that Oct. 30 would be a particularly emotional day for them, as they had lost a loved one from brain cancer. The individual expressed their appreciation of the risen awareness.
