Students scream, dance to celebrate Halloween

AHHHHHHHHHHH!

Frightening screams filled the Student Center as students braved the Haunted House last Thursday night.

Coffins laid on the floor as scary dolls crept around; you could feel them breathing down your neck.  Chains hung from the ceiling while a man in a mask hid in the corner holding a severed head on a hook.  Blood was splattered everywhere as a creepy clown held tightly to his butcher knife.

Static came from the television being played in the background. The Grudge crawled on all four limbs to get closer to attendees for a more intimate scare. Most of the students agreed that this was the scariest segment of the Haunted House.

The Haunted House came to a close; then music started to play in the Ballroom as the Halloween Dance began. The Wizard of Oz, a fisherman, Blues Clues, Wayne’s World, school girls, vampires, zombies and around 150 other creative costumes gathered together to dance the night away in celebration of Halloween.

Picking the perfect Halloween costume can be tricky.  Teryn Blessin, 20, senior of Greenwood, had an easy decision.  She selected a theme from her favorite movie.

“My favorite movie is ‘Pirates of the Caribbean,’” Blessin said “Dressing up as a pirate only made sense to me.”

Students had smiles on their faces from ear to ear as they spent time with close friends dressed in cool costumes. All enjoyed a haunting night!
