Battle began deciding the best holiday—Halloween or Christmas.

Coaches divided up the Track and Field athletes into two teams—Halloween and Christmas—to compete in the Intrasquad Track Meet Friday, Nov. 20 in the NPAC. The entire event was competitive, but Christmas frosted the competition beating Halloween by 10.5 points.

“So far so good,” Head Coach Brad Gamble said. “They have competed well today and there has been much improvement since this time last year.”

The competition was close as Christmas finished with 149.75 points and Halloween with 139.25. Women’s Halloween was able to spook Christmas outshining them in points but it was the men’s Christmas that jingled all the way to first place.

In the co-ed 4×360 meter relay Halloween won against Christmas. Shelby Bozner, senior of Rock Springs, Wyoming, gained a huge lead in the first 360 allowing her team to stay in the lead.

“If they don’t eat too much over Thanksgiving, they will be ready for season to start,” Gamble said.

CSC Track and Field will compete in its first meet Dec. 5 against Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota.
