A throwback day with ‘90s cartoons entertains students

A cartoon night helped students to relax before the final week.

The Resident Life Associations, RLA, organized cartoons night for CSC students Saturday in Edna Hall.

“We wanted something to relax before finals I guess,” Cody Cooper, 21, junior of Gothenburg, said.

Entering the doors of Edna Hall, visitors appeared in another world where they couldn’t think about final exams, and homework. Students had an opportunity to choose the cartoon through the lottery. They had to write the name of the cartoon they wanted to watch on small tickets before taking their seats.

“We are just trying to give them, you know, what they want instead of us just picking our favorite cartoons,” Becca Barger, 19, sophomore of Atkinson, said. “That way they have some flashbacks to their childhood.”

Students said they appreciated this. Scooby Doo is an old cartoon which appeared on television 46 years ago, but it is still one of the most favorite cartoons of many students because the majority of them wrote the name of it on their lottery tickets.

“It helps me to reminisce of my past,” Eli Garza, 21, freshman of Scottsbluff, said.

The organization of the event was good and the atmosphere was friendly and comfortable.

“I’m very homesick now,” Olga Grushina, 21, junior of Syktyvkar, Russia, said. “Here, I feel like I’m again together with my family because people are very nice, and the atmosphere is the same as at home.”

To sum up, cartoon night helped students forget their stressful thoughts. About 40 people came to this event to relax before finals week.
