CSC student arrested for alleged sexual assault

An 18-year-old CSC student remained in Dawes County Jail Wednesday morning following his arrest Sunday evening in connection with an alleged sexual assault that occurred on campus in the Kent Hall dormitory on or about Nov. 30, Dawes County and college officials said.

Bailey Bowker, freshman of Golden, Colorado, was arrested Sunday evening in connection with a first degree sexual assault, a class II felony. Dawes County Judge Russell Harford set bond at 10 percent of $100,000.

Bowker remains in custody but a formal complaint has not been filed, according to Dawes County Courthouse records.

A press release issued Monday, by Chadron Police states they responded to a report of an alleged sexual assault. Their investigation led to Bowker’s arrest, the release states.

“Chadron State College is cooperating fully and was made aware of this allegation after it was reported to our agency late Sunday evening,” Chadron Police Department Chief Tim Lordino said.

The CSC 2015-16 Student Directory lists Bowker as a freshman from Golden, Colorado. The Chadron Police Department’s release states that “both the victim and Mr. Bowker are Chadron State College students.”
