Eagles improve to 1-4 overall, undefeated in RMAC

Despite an off-balance 3-point buzzer-beater from the opponent, the Eagles had a thrilling 66–64 victory at home over Regis University in their first conference game of the season. The Eagles improved to a 1-4 record.
As a team, the Eagles shot 51.1 percent and an impressive 42.9 percent from the 3-point line. However, the team turned the ball over 25 times and allowed the Rangers to have 13 steals.
Stephanie Knowles, senior of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Emma Block, senior of Copenhagen, Denmark, led the team offense, both scoring 15 points. In addition, Knowles also had four assists and two steals along with three assists and one steal from Block.
After leading 9–8 early in the first quarter, the Eagles were not able to tie the game until the fourth quarter. Block hit a 3-pointer to tie the game at 51 with 7:42 to play.
The Eagles took the lead with great scoring by Maka Daysh, sophomore of Tauranga, New Zealand. She scored nine straight points for the team with 1:13 to play.
Knowles led the team defense with eight rebounds, three blocks, and two steals. Block and Daysh added five rebounds each. The Eagles held their opponent to shoot only 34.4 percent from the field and 26.3 percent from the 3-point line.
The Eagles earned their first win of the season, improved to a 1-4 record and 1–0 in the conference.
The Eagles will play Black Hill State University at home, Friday. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
