Banzhaf named Academic Runner of the Year

Nicky Banzhaf, junior of Chadron, was selected as the Academic Runner of the Year. According to the RMAC Sports website, to be considered for the Runner of the Year, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA and must be active at his or her current school for at least two consecutive semesters.

Banzhaf and Maggie Vinton, sophomore of North Platte, were voted onto the First Team All-Academic.

Any student-athlete who meets the requirements, but wasn’t voted onto the First Team All-Academic, automatically qualifies for the Honor Roll.

Other Eagles who were name to the Honor Roll were Zach Doffin, junior of Stanton; Josef Gertner, junior of Fort Morgan, Colorado; Doug Harris, senior of Las Vegas; Hank Jackson, junior of Lingle, Wyoming; Eric Yager, sophomore of Hot Springs, South Dakota; Teren Hanson, senior of Casper, Wyoming; Jayme Nunes, senior of Alliance; Justine Stone, sophomore of Maywood; Sarah Townsend, senior of Douglas, Wyoming; and Rebecca Volf, senior of Wood River.
