CAB approves new honor club

At the beginning of the meeting, clubs had spent $60,453.92 and had $93,310.99 in remaining funds. CAB spent $6,437.65 and had $2,652.35 in remaining funds, not including Free Movie Night.

Tri Beta club was approved as a club in CAB. They are a biology honor club. The club plans to host a biology day for secondary students. The members also want to start mentoring other science students.

No more than $2,700 was allocated for zorb racing and bubble soccer on Feb. 20. Since the allocation passed in CAB, Senate will need to pass it next.

Director of Student Affairs and Student Activities and Recreation Chris Green said a bus will travel to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with the first 50 students to sign up to watch CSC wrestle at the RMAC Championships 11:45 p.m., Saturday. Students can sign up at the NPAC. Contact Green for more information.

Green said Walmart trips for clubs to buy supplies for events are now from 10-11 a.m., Tuesdays. Clubs should email Green if they need to go to Walmart.

Career and Academic Planning Services Director Deena Kennell reminded students to meet with their adviser to set up next semester’s class schedule.

Student trustee applications are due Feb. 5.

The spring club fair will be from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m., Feb. 24 in the Ballroom.

Vice Chair of Finance Molly O’Connell reminded students to check their emails for the Ride the Bus program survey.

AFB needs an at large member. If you are interested, contact O’Connell before tomorrow.

Social Science Club is taking orders for treats to be sent to others this week and next week. The treats will be delivered on Valentine’s Day.

NOCS will have a formal Valentine’s Day dance Feb. 14.

Student Senate President Katrina Hurley asked clubs to sponsor booths for Spring Daze in April. Some ideas she offered to clubs were life-size pong, life-size chess, mechanical bull, karaoke, food tasting, henna tattoos, face painting, and carnival games.
