CSC students shared their diverse interests through artwork at last Thursday’s RLA event, Color Your Life. The event lasted from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Gold Room, drawing 25 students to sign in.

Crayons were labeled with different traits, depending on color.

For example, orange crayons were for artistic people. Each attendee grabbed however many crayons fit their personality and hot-glued them to a 5×7 poster board. Next, they used hair dryers to melt the crayons and create a unique piece of artwork.

“As part of our diversity program, this was a fun way for students to show who they are,” Edna Hall RA, Cody Cooper, 21, junior of Gothenburg, said.

Students found different ways to make their piece their own, such as painting the background or dripping the wax on instead of gluing the crayons on.

“It really lets people show their inner child,” Carly Eastman, 20, junior of Pine Bluffs, Wyoming, said.

Aside from art supplies, Cooper said the $130 budget from the RLA fund also paid for refreshments and prizes. Adult coloring books and colored pencils were given out to students based on predetermined numbers on the sign-in sheet from RLA.
