Senate allocates $35,300 for Spring Daze
Senate allocated $35,300 Monday night for the Spring Daze event in April. The amount was adjusted from the previously discussed $37,000 the committee was asking for. The adjustment came after students suggested that the amount estimated for “swag” items was too much. The committee decided to eliminate the sunglasses, wristbands, and hats that were going to be handed out and sold at the event.

Former CSC student Timothy C. Jungquist, arrested in October 2014 in connection with a sexual assault, is scheduled for a April 12 sentencing date following Friday’s motion day proceedings. Jungquist entered into a plea deal Friday, agreeing to amended charges in exchange for a guilty or no contest plea.

Student Senate hosted open forums to discuss the Spring Daze festival Thursday and Monday. There were 10 students at the forum Thursday and seven students at the forum Monday. Senate allocated $35,300 for Spring Daze at Senate’s regularly scheduled meeting Monday.

Men’s basketball team loses final home games of season
The Chadron State men’s basketball team played its final two home games and celebrated the careers of its seniors this weekend, hosting the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on Friday and Metro State University, Denver, Saturday. The Eagles lost both games by 20 or more.
