CAB approves sorority after much discussion
Alpha Sigma Zeta was approved as a CAB-affiliated club.
Discussion, mainly between Xi Delta Zeta and Alpha Sigma Zeta, was broken up by CAB Chair Stephanie Steele saving, “If you look at other large schools they have multiple fraternities and multiple sororities that are not taking away from different groups. This seems like an interpersonal conflict between the sororities so I feel like that should be addressed outside of CAB.”
CAB allocated $346.70 to table tennis club for table tennis paddles. Ridgeview Bible Church bought three table tennis tables for the club to use.
Enrollment Management, Marketing & Student Services Vice President Jon Hansen asked clubs to add the NSCS nondiscrimination statement to their constitutions. Once clubs have their constitutions amended they should send them to Steele.
Vice Chair of Finance Molly O’Connell said budget packets are due March 4 to [email protected] and Sakai. Once clubs submit their packets they should sign up for budget hearings on the sign-up sheet on the Senate office door.
O’Connell said clubs should promote their clubs to high school students on Scholastic Day.
O’Connell said if clubs are hosting a booth during Spring Daze and want funding, they should send a proposal with an itemized budget in an email to Senate President Katrina Hurley.
O’Connell said if clubs plan to host a booth during the Mesmerie Circus, they should email CAB with their intention to get funding that was allocated last week.
A constitutional changes public forum is in the Senate office from 4-5 p.m. Thursday.
Senior Director of Student Affairs Pat Beu said he wants to talk to clubs after break about leadership values.
There is a teacher interview day Friday in the Student Center. This will be similar to a career fair for those in the teaching profession.
There will be a career fair in the Student Center March 16.
Social Science club changed the “Star Wars” movie marathon to 3:30-10 p.m. April 16-17.
CAB will not meet next week because of midterm break but will resume regularly scheduled meetings March 15.
