NNM coordinators seeking $10k
An open forum for the Nearly Naked Mile’s budget of $10,398.83 was presented Wednesday. The Nearly Naked Mile will be Thursday, April 23.
The budget includes $3,323 for prizes that range from Wal-Mart gift cards to a 48-inch Smart TV. Other prizes include an Xbox One, an Apple Watch, headphones, towels and kitchen appliances. A hoverboard will no longer be included. Instead, a GoPro that is on sale for $154 will be a prize. Instead of NNM phone cases, which were about $100 dollars for 10, a Polaroid camera and two rolls of film will be a prize.
Jade Capezzuto, junior of Colorado Springs, Colorado, said that she liked the feedback that Senate provided Monday. Capezzuto and Gabriela Perez, sophomore of Sioux City, Iowa, are coordinators for the event. Capezzuto also said that they want around 20 volunteers to help separate clothing donations.
Capezzuto and Perez were able to find a cheaper place to produce bracelets. The bracelets are $374.69 for 500 plus 100 for free. The bracelets will also have a small keychain ring on them if students do not want to wear them. They will also not have the date on them so if not all of the bracelets are given away, they can be reused.
Capezzuto also said that they will contract two student disc jockeys for the event as well. The Nearly Naked Mile will also provide water to participants which is different from last year.
Senate will vote on the budget Monday.
