Diamonds are Forever was the theme of the formal dance thrown in the Student Center Thursday. The event was put together by the staff at The Pit and gave students a chance to put on some of their best attire and relive those fun prom moments. The event looked just like a real prom with balloons everywhere and even a place for people to have their picture taken. Many people showed up to the event and laughed and danced the night away with their significant other or in big groups as friends.

Justyn Anderson, graduate student of Las Vegas, was the disk jockey for the event playing music that the party goers could dance to all night. With songs ranging from the “Macarena” all the way to “Formation” by Beyoncé everyone could enjoy themselves and dance the night away.

“I think the event went pretty well,” Anderson said. “There was a good turnout because it gave people a chance to do something different of campus.”

The event started promptly at 9 p.m. and ended at midnight with them turning the lights on around 11:50 p.m. alerting people that it was almost time to go.

The event started off slow with not many people showing up until around 9:45 p.m., but once people got there, the dance floor would be packed for the rest of the evening. They even offered games for people who did not feel like dancing, the games were water-pong and corn hole which many people also engaged in.

“It was really awesome to win prom queen with Evan we had a really great time. We had a really good turnout for the event overall,” Savannah Hurtado, sophomore of Denver, said.
