Scholarship pageant registration is open

Registration for The Miss Chadron/Miss Northwest/Miss Fur Trade Days Scholarship Pageant is currently open.

Contestants must be a U.S. Citizen, age 17-24, and either a resident of Nebraska or a student attending college in Nebraska. The pageant entails a private interview, an on-stage question, and talent, swimwear, and evening wear competitions.

“Pageantry is much more than sparkly crowns and pretty gowns,” Executive Director Sara Smith said. “Contestants and titleholders have the power to make an impacting change in the world by standing by their platform issues.”

Contact Smith at (308)430-2613, or by email at [email protected], to receive a contestant packet. Contestant packets need to be turned in by Sept. 5, and the pageant will be Sept. 25, at the Chadron High School auditorium.

CSC is a pageant partner and awards a one-year room waiver to the three title winners. Other scholarships and awards will be given out as well.

Each titleholder will also get to compete in the Miss Nebraska Pageant in June 2017, where they could ultimately move on to vie for the title of Miss America.
