Golfers struggle at RMAC tournament

The CSC women’s golf team finished just five strokes from the bottom spot in the RMAC Tournament No. 1 in Denver Tuesday. The Eagles finished 13th out of 14 teams.
Sam Rahmig, sophomore of Gering, shot 89 strokes on the first day and 91 on the second for a total of 180 to put her as the Eagle’s top finisher in 52nd place overall out of 75 golfers. Rahmig has led the Eagles both meets this season.
Following Rahmig was Sydney Owen, freshman of Rapid City, South Dakota with a two-round total of 186. She shot a 91 on the first day and a 95 on the second, tying for 58th place.
Mikayla Gallagher, junior of Lead, South Dakota, shot a 99 on the first day and improved her score to a 95 on the second day for a total of 194.
Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Jennifer Hankins, freshman of Thornton, Colorado, was the individual tournament winner with a score of 140. Hankins was the only golfer to shoot a sub-par round; her first round was a 74 and the second 66.
CSC golfers will travel to Bellevue for the Bellevue Fall Invite Oct. 3-4.
