Softball team dominates scrimmage v. WNCC

The CSC softball team showed offensive dominance during a scrimmage against Western Nebraska Community College, Scottsbluff, on Tuesday.
The scrimmage played a full, seven-inning game, and about half of a second game. Although neither game’s score appeared on the scoreboard, it was clear that CSC earned the upper hand.
The Eagles dominated in the first game both in the batter’s box, and in the pitching circle. Several Eagles launched home runs during the first game. Senior Morgan Wilhelm, of Littleton, Colorado, and freshman Geli Maples, of Olivehurst, California, were among the long-ball hitters.
There weren’t many defensive highlights, mostly due to the pitching performance from several Eagle pitchers, new and old. One new face that will have an impact on the spring season is freshman Jess Jarecki, of Littleton, Colorado. Another freshman, Megan Horn, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, also displayed her talents in the circle.
The Eagles do not have another game scheduled until February 2017, when they will start the season in Clearwater, Florida, at the Eckerd College Spring Invitational.
