Students win big at The Price is Right
Everyone who stayed the whole time at The Price is Right won a prize in The Hub 8 p.m. Friday.
The Price is Right is an event put on by the Resident Assistant’s, led by Resident Director Kale Lytle of Wall, South Dakota. The event attracted 61 students. Every student who showed up put their name in a bucket to earn a chance to be one of four contestants in the games that were played.
When the RAs got their four participants they would ask them questions based off of how much the students thought a certain item cost. The closest student took his or her chance at a game randomly picked for them by the RAs. After that student’s game, they picked another student to go up and replace them based on a random pick from the bucket. Students won prizes ranging from food, to bean bags, electronics and much more.
From the students who were picked there were 10 games. Each game was different from the next. After the first five games all the winners took a spin at the wheel for a showcase showdown to see who would have a chance for the final prize. The RAs did this again after the rest of the games were played.
Before doing the final prize the RAs began to raffle out the rest of the prizes to people who didn’t get a chance to play or win. The RAs gave out 18 prizes.
“It gets people here because it’s something for everyone to enjoy,” Lytle said. “Almost everyone gets a prize as a reward for coming out.”
